Certification is mandatory and the certification body is a registered certification body recognized within the scope of the specified radio equipment. It is the main registered certification body for conformity certification of radio equipment in Japan.

Certification Standards
For technical standards for certification, please refer to the classification and technical standards of designated radio equipment listed in the technical regulations compliance certification system on its official website. It is worth noting that when there are differences between these technical standards and the technical requirements of the Radio Regulations (.), the Radio Regulations shall prevail.
Certification Type
Certification includes test certification and type certification. Test certification is for each equipment unit, and the certification is only valid for each verified equipment unit. Type certification refers to the verification of a batch of equipment samples of the same design and manufacture. The certification is valid for each equipment unit that has been verified. All batch devices are valid, but if the design or manufacturing of the device changes, the device will need to be recertified.
It is worth noting that the use of non-low-power wireless stations and their terminal equipment requires application for a license.
In addition, there are two situations for compliance certification of telecommunications terminal equipment
For ordinary telephone equipment, it only needs to be certified in accordance with the requirements of the Telecommunications Industry Act
For wireless terminal equipment, in addition to needing to comply with the requirements of the Telecommunications Industry Act In addition to the certification required by the Radio Act, it also needs to be certified according to the requirements of the Radio Act.
